I went right after breakfast and I'm a little sad, because the breakfast dishes I saw on the tables, looked and smelled amazing! I will def be back to try. I had lunch, including a delicious white pizza, a nice salad and a beautiful glass of wine. I am a white pizza lover and this one did NOT dissapoint, the crust was perfectly buttery and salty and of course crispy; the size of the pizza was also perfect for sharing We sat outside which is covered by a nice awning and allows you to people watch the BH locals. The menu had a nice variety and sooo many things appealed it was hard to make a choice.
Ordered the Little Nats pizza and Spicy fusilli pasta and it was so good! We had counter seating and the food is served fresh right as soon as it comes out of the oven! I love the thin crust on pizza and Jon & Vinny's does it well. The spicy fusilli pasta is a good level of spice and noodles were perfectly al dente. They don't allow any modifications on pizza btw but have plenty of different options.
Let's make this simple.. Food- delicious..Delicious..... The server didn't have customer service attitude. She seemed more irritated.. To her defense, it was busy.. They charge a fee (I can't remember how it was worded on the bill) but basically it's to upkeep the building... idk it was weird and my party had to google it to see what it meant. We were going to ask the server but she never came back. Would I recommend- yes. Will I be going back, no.
Had a wonderful lunch here with my friend on a weekday, we found street parking in the neighborhood and walked up for our reservation. Our server was sweet and patient with us. I liked my iced vanilla latte, it was well balanced. We also ordered the Gem Lettuce, Spicy Fusilli, and Bronx Bomber. Everything we ordered was just soooo good we inhaled it all. For lunchtime, the vibe was very relaxed and chill, the music was good and the natural light was super pretty here. Can't wait to come back soon!
LA restaurant service has been much better than the Vancouver restaurants back home. We were a large group of 8 with 2 young children and they were able to easily accommodate our group. Crayons and colouring sheets were provided for the kids which helped keep them occupied at the table. I like the open kitchen concept and the cute little window peeking into Helen's wines. Everyone got their meals and were almost finished while mine was still nowhere to be seen. Our server (Marko?) was very apologetic and got me a tall soft serve on the house, which the kids excitedly gobbled down :) My friends couldn't stop raving about the ranch dip for their pizza and said it was the best they tasted in their life. I loved the decor and great service, it seems like a fun date night spot and I liked the cute merch they have available for sale as well.
I don't eat Italian food super often but this is one of my go-to spots in LA for it. Most recently when I came here, I got: - Gem lettuce salad- so yummy but a little heavy on the dressing and definitely expensive for the amount of food you get - Ricotta bruschetta- first time having this and it was so good! Bread was perfectly toasted and this was a perfect mix of sweet and savory with the honey drizzle on top - Bronx bomber pizza- great ratios of toppings (onions, sausage, mozarella) to pizza dough and sauce - Spicy fusilli vodka pasta- my favorite vodka pasta, actually enough spice put in for it to be noticable Service is always so delightful here though I would recommend making a reservation in advance if possible! We had to wait around an hour for a Saturday lunch since there aren't too many tables inside for big groups, but there are some nice cafes in the area to wait at.
I love this place so much. There is nothing I don't like on their menu - but if you don't believe me... most things ARE good!! A couple of my favorites include their gem lettuce salad, spicy vodka pasta, and the steak (medium rare). More recently I tried their ricotta & orange blossom honey toast, brocollini, marinara braised meatballs, princess cake, and roman gladiator pizza (bacon, fennel sausage, pepperoni, smoked ham, etc). ALL DELICIOUS!! My tummy always leaves so happy eating here! The music is always great! Always playing hip hop/rnb throwbacks!
This is my go-to spot! Period. I love Jon & Vinny's Fairfax. I've been to this location several times, and it's my favorite location. Let's jump right into this review. The space is small, but it works. I personally feel expanding the restaurant would take away from the electric vibe and experience when you are dining. It's an intimate setting. The music is always poppin'. The staff has always been friendly. My favorite dishes are - 1. GEM LETTUCE, CALABRIAN CHILI DRESSING, PARMIGIANO REGGIANO, BREAD CRUMBS $17.95 - Has a kick of spice to it but absolutely delicious! 2. BROOKLYN DODGER" MOZZARELLA, PARMIGIANO REGGIANO, OREGANO, BASIL, TOMATO, GARLIC $22.25 - Hand tossed, baby! 3. SPAGHETTI LIMONE, PARMIGIANO REGGIANO, BREAD CRUMBS $21.95 - This is definitely some of the best spaghetti I've had, outside of my momma making it (lol). 4. SAL'S MINI CANNOLI (2) $11.75 - Perfect size to not feel guilty for having dessert. Pros 1. Great food! Try/order several things and share. 2. Great service. For a restaurant that I wouldn't consider fine dining, you definitely receive fine dining customer service. 3. If you make reservations, make for the tabletop area in front of the kitchen. You can watch the behind the scenes of all the food being cooked. 4. Outdoor seating available. Nice for the warm Cali nights. Cons 1. Parking is ridiculous. You just have to get lucky. Read the signs, don't risk a ticket or potential tow. 2. Long wait times without reservations. 3. There is no room to wait for a table. Keep that in mind. Other things to note - this place is intimate, and seating is close together. For my ladies who love big bags, leave those at home. This is a great restaurant for all occasions - date night, girls/boys night, family night, or you just happen to be in the neighborhood. I highly recommend Jon & Vinny's Fairfax. There are a few other locations, but I can't speak on those locations, just this one.
